Thinking of making some Valentines treats this week? Good news for chocolate lovers – it’s an excellent heart-healthy food. So why not try these little truffles, which are packed with ingredients to nourish and energise the body? Makes 16 truffles.

Place 115g cashew or almond nut butter, 60g maple syrup, 2tbsp raw cacao powder and 60g melted dark chocolate in a food processor and combine.

Add 2tsp maca powder, 1tbsp lucuma powder, 1tsp vanilla extract, 1tsp ground cinnamon, 30g shelled hemp seeds, and 60g dried cherries (or other dried fruit) and process to form a soft dough.

Place the mixture in a bowl and chill in the fridge for a couple of hours until firm.

Use a spoon to scoop out walnut-size pieces. Roll into balls and place on a sheet of baking parchment.

Twirl the truffles in dessicated coconut and store in the fridge until you’re ready to serve them.
