From vegan food to a guided run celebrating gin, there’s lots happening this month!

Multisport boot camp break at Champneys spa, Tring

If you’ve ever considered dipping your toe in the world of triathlons, or just want to give your fitness a boost, this could be the weekend retreat for you! Held at Champneys spa in Tring, the new multi-sport boot camp will be hosted by Professor Greg Whyte – an Olympian athlete who trained Davina McCall for her impressive Sports Relief challenge.

The retreat, which includes all meals over a two-night stay, will combine running, cycling and outdoor swimming workshops, and plenty of time for questions. The best part? It’s for beginners and first-timers, so there’s absolutely no pressure to know your stuff.

Runs from June 22 – 24, from £499pp (also running September 28 – 30)

Secret gin run for beginners, London

Now this sounds like a challenge we can get on board with! This is a gentle, guided 10k through London (combining half walking, half gentle jogging) that celebrates the capital’s long-held love affair with gin. It’s a group tour held by Secret London Runs, which will include gin-based games, history and – of course – a drink at the end.

June 10, prices from £26.

Vegan Festivals in Brighton and Leeds

There are two great events for vegans (and those with an interest in cutting down on dairy) happening this month. First the Brighton Vegan Summer Fest (June 2 – 3) and then the Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival in Leeds (June 16 – 17). As well as amazing hot and cold food from around the world, there will also be ethical fashion, jewellery, beauty products, crafts and much more. In terms of entertainment, look out for live music, talks, cookery demonstrations, children’s activities and those all-important food samples!

Entry is £5 for the day or £8 for both days, run by Vegan Events UK.

Aqua Park Rutland

Want to get wild in the water? Aqua Park Rutland could be the day out for you. It’s a great cardio and strength workout as you scramble over giant inflatable obstacles and slide into the water, but it’s so fun you won’t notice (until the next day!)

Visitors must be aged 8+, 1.3m tall and able to swim 50m unaided. Tickets cost £20-£22 including buoyancy vests and wetsuits.

Aqua Park Rutland is open every weekend in June, plus seven days a week in July and August, ending on September 23.
