Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly stopped speaking after a major row over a UK. trip. The Duchess of Sussex allegedly told her husband she was “not going” as their marriage tensions rose.

The row happened days before the Duchess jetted off to a pre-planned engagement in Geneva, and tensions have been high ever since.

As well as the Balmoral trip, the plan had been for Meghan to join her husband in the UK in July for a one-year countdown event to the 2027 Invictus Games, taking place in Birmingham.

However, a source told Heat that Meghan has now told Harry to go without her. They said, “Meghan’s bust-up with Harry was a big one, and she’s digging her heels in. She’s told Harry to go to the UK without her, as there is no way she will be joining. She doesn’t want to put herself, or the kids, through the drama.

“Things boiled over hours before Meghan flew out to Geneva, and she and Harry didn’t speak for a while afterwards. Harry had been getting sentimental ahead of their eighth wedding anniversary – things seemed so much simpler when they got married that day.

‘He’s been desperately trying to map out this summer in Europe to bring him and Meghan back into the family. He’s carving out time at [Scottish royal estate] Balmoral, so his father King Charles can see Archie and Lilibet.’

Insiders alleged that Meghan isn’t pleased with his plans to spend so much time on the royal family’s home turf amid the ongoing tensions, particularly with the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Once so close the brothers and their wives were labelled the ‘Fab Four’, the relationship between the Sussexes and the Waleses has deteriorated since Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, left the royal family in 2020. And the last time they were altogether was in September 2022, at the late Queen’s funeral.

The source explains, ‘The plan was for Harry and Meghan to base themselves in Portugal for the summer, then spend time at Balmoral. But Meghan then heard that William and Kate had told Harry they are “not welcome” and they refuse to have their family sanctuary disrupted by what they called “Hollywood drama”.

“Meghan was understandably upset and it turned into a real showdown.”

Shortly after their explosive row, Meghan headed to Switzerland to attend the installation of the Lost Screen Memorial. Opened at the Place des Nations, it was created by the Sussexes’ Archewell Philanthropies, and features 50 illuminated lightboxes displaying the lock screens of young people who have tragically lost their lives to online and digital harm.

Just days after returning home to California, Harry and Meghan celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary and despite the ongoing tensions Meghan shared a collection of previously unseen photographs on her Instagram.

The intimate images included the newlyweds’ first dance and affectionate moments on the dancefloor. One image captured the couple sharing a kiss, with another featuring Meghan showing off her wedding ring.

Still, the source claimed Meghan told Harry to go to the UK. without her and said there was “no way she would be joining” the UK trip.

The July Invictus Games countdown event in Birmingham was also part of the dispute. The source added that Harry feared spending summer “cut off from his wife and his children.”

It remains to be seen if that will be the case.
